Sucking my thumb!!!

Iris has been sucking her (left) thumb since she was still in the tummy! Now we are trying to crack down on this "tooth damaging" and "potentially expensive dental bill" causing habit. We've tried incentives and warnings "Santa says 'no sucking your thumb'" and hot sauce and special bitter nail polish - nothing has worked. She loves bandaids and we put two on her thumb so she wouldn't suck on it- that lasted about 5 min.

Next we're going to try the "duct tape mitten"....

If anybody has any other successful ideas, let me know!

Erik is gloating because he has been saying since day 1 that it's a boy. Now (18 weeks later and $700 later) we have proof!

Erik and I (sans Iris) went to the Elkhorn Yurt this past weekend.

There was plenty of good company, good food, good weather, and good skiing. (and good sledding)

This is Iris's favorite song and the only one she knows most of the words to.

Other ones she likes to sing are "Old McDonald had a farm", but she only remembers certain parts of it. For example, she usually sings "and on his farm he had a cow" then procedes to make elephant noises "with a brummmffff here" (which is a different verse).

Iris used to be too small to get on and play on this bouncy ball - obviously she's growing because now she's a pro! (refer back to photos posted on March 13, 2010)
