We just got back from a week in the snow. Most of it just the 6 of us (plus friend) in backcountry cabin doing x-country tours, snowshoeing, spotting migrating cranes, etc. AAAHHH. Then took the boys for their first day of downhill ever. The oldest 3 looked like little pros w/ their X-C background. 4 year old Caedmon had only just gotten on X-C skis this trip, and at the downhill he really didn't want to learn to turn at all. My favorite moment: stepping out of the lodge (I don't downhill) just in time to see little Caedmon Whistling straight down a moderately steep hill with Todd hot on his heels, shouting, "Turn! Turn!" He eventually swooped out in a nice long turn, and didn't stop talking about it all the 4 hours home. The next day Todd, Brendan and Goodwyn (9 and 8) participated in a 10K skate skiing race. Absolutely wasted themselves, but came away with medals (nice that there were only 3 kids in the race--pays to play in a minority sport. :>)
Woohoo! Congrats Erik, Naya & Iris. Iris will be a great big sis.
ReplyDeleteHurray for baby boy! It's a miracle--again!
