What a ham!
Iris loves smiling for the camera. She also loves smiling for people, animals, food, toys - but most of all - the camera!

There's something going on in that small brain (or small head at least)
Here are some recent photos of Iris. We can really tell that something is going on in her mind by her expressions and responses to the things (and people) around her. By the way, so far she is average height with slim build, and a TINY pin head (just like her mom and dad).

Iris loves animals!
Iris loves petting (ie "grabbing") her dogs Gretle and Sophie, and gently touching (ie "grabbing") her cats Rocky and Bullwinkle. Most of the pets are less than patient, except for good old Gretle.
If you'd like to check out this youtube video of Iris playing with Sophie - click on this link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0OfimS-mJ8
Right after we stopped the video, Sophie turned around and growled at Iris (don't worry - we're quicker than both Iris's hand and Sophie's mouth).
When we were in Chicago over Easter, visiting Erik's dad and stepmom, Iris went ga-ga over (ie "grabbed like crazy") their chinchilla Chumly.

8 month old daughter of Pediatrician addicted to Ice Cream!
Iris loves all food. She loves avocado, pasta, rice, cereal, plain yogurt, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, carrots, potato, salmon, chicken, poi (yes! we gave her poi when we were in Hawaii and she loved it)... the list goes on.
But the thing she loves most is - ICE CREAM. Even if she's in her room and we say the words "ice cream", she'll start yelling. Yesterday she made the biggest fuss because we could not keep up with her motor mouth to feed her enough ice cream.
All I can say is, she better have inherited her mom's metabolism genes....
Wake up sleepy heads - it's time to start blogging!
Many of our friends have blog sites, which are great for putting up pictures and videos for folks to see. I've resisted so far because I figured I'd just email out individual photos and videos, but with our families spread out so far (and the large memory sizes of some of these attachments) - I think we'll try this blog stuff....
