Iris dancing and playing

Iris likes to have "dance parties" - usually we just play whatever CD is in the player (classical, rock). The difficulty in catching her on camera is that whenever she sees the camera, she wants to "look" at the picture...

You can hear in this video a little joke Erik and Iris have developed. He'll say "Peanut butter" and she responds "Jelly". She's also gets distracted when she sees the camera and says "I look!"

The "Why?" Phase has begun

Last week (exactly) Iris started with the "Why?" "Why?" "Why?" response to everything we say.... I don't think she even understands what "why" means since when I ask her "Why," she gives me a blank I-don't-know-what-you-are-saying look.

Also - about two weeks ago Iris started playing pretend (at least that I could figure out). Now she jumps around saying "eee eee eee" and scratching her torso (she's a monkey), or raising her arms above her head and roaring (she's a dinosaur).... very cute.

Iris skiing (again)

It's been about a month since Iris was on her skis. Last weekend we took her skiing on her little plastic skis on the driveway in front of our cabin. She actually walked and pushed herself along on her skis without holding our hand! (first time) We'll post photos/videos of this soon...

We also took her for a walk pulling her on a sled - she loved that! And we could go further than if she walked on her own - we loved that!

Back to Reality...

The worst part of the cruise was leaving the Caribbean at 85 degrees and returning 2 days later to cold, icy, overcast New York city (see picture!)

We went on a cruise to the Caribbean and it was wonderful!
