I'm a Big Guy!

Last weekend, Iris said to Erik "I'm a BIG GUY"

Erik responded "you're a LITTLE GIRL, I'm a BIG GUY"

Iris repeated "I'm a BIG GUY" and then (in a deep rough voice -as deep and rough as a 2 year old girl can do) she said "BLOW IT UP!"

This is referring to our habit of playing with Iris "Gimme 5" (high 5), "Knuckles" (tap knuckles of closed fists) and "Blow it up" (open the hand like a bomb exploding)...

Cracked us up!

Who's the Boss?

Sometimes when Iris is resisting us, we ask her "Who is the Boss?"

She knows the answer, and tells us "Daddy is the Boss."

Then we ask her "And who's in charge?

She says "Mommy's in charge."

Then we say "What is Iris?"

And she says "Iris is the Queen!"

At least so far the Queen listens to the Boss and Who's in Charge....

Family weekend

This weekend Grandma Delia (Gigi) and Grandpa Brian came to visit us. Despite the cold (they're from LA!) we enjoyed some fresh air (they're from LA!) and had a good time.

Starting the new year with a good attitude!

We went outside for about 15 min on New Year's day (it was about 5 degrees F outside!)

Some of Iris's presents this Christmas... I think she's finally figured out the whole "presents" thing (she asked to open presents the week after Christmas too)
