France Part II: Ironman Race Day 6/27/10

Erik started the swim at 6:30 am Sunday morning.

He swam in the Mediterranean ocean for 2.4 miles (along with 2500 other athletes all kicking, pushing, grabbing, and slapping each other)




He then got on the bike for a 112 mile bike ride up into the Alps.


At 7 hours into the race, he got off the bike and started the final leg: a 26 mile marathon on the boardwalk in Nice. Nice views but now it's about 90 degrees and getting hotter.

Strong sprint to the finish line at just under 12 hours!

Now for some real food!
